I'm sorry, you can't tell me there are 7 teams better than Alabama.  They lost one game, to a very good South Carolina team, and now all of a sudden Boise and TCU are better than them?  Come on.  I'm all for the underdogs, they make sports much more fun and interesting, but you can't tell me either of those teams are better than Nebraska, Oklahoma, Auburn, Alabama, LSU, and South Carolina.  Neither Boise nor TCU would beat any of those teams in a meaningful game.

When Boise beat Oklahoma a few years ago, no matter how much everyone argues, that was not a meaningful game to Oklahoma.  Who wants to play in a game when you're already eliminated?  That's like the Pirates playing the Cardinals in the last day of the regular season and the Pirates are 81-80, going for their first winning season since 1992, and the Cardinals were eliminated a month ago.  Now tell me, which team is going to play?  The Cardinals, like Oklahoma, have bigger goals than just having a decent year.  They're goal every year is to win the World Series.  The Pirates?  Not so much.  Any win is an accomplishment for the Pirates, and the ability to play .500 baseball would be as meaningful as the World Series to them.  Oklahoma had no reason to play in that game, or at least no reason to leave absolutely everything they had out on the field.  Boise did.  Other than the National Championship, these stupid bowl games mean nothing to the powerhouse teams.  Means a lot to the school as far as donors are concerned, but not to the players.  Their conference championship game is more important than that.  Neither Boise nor TCU would beat any of the six teams they're directly ahead of in the polls.

That doesn't mean they don't deserve a shot though.  I hate to turn this into a "BCS SUCKS! COLLEGE FOOTBALL NEEDS A PLAYOFF!" thread, so it'll be a hypothetical "If the season ended today and drastically changed it's format" thread.

You'd get last week's National Championship Game, Ohio State vs. Alabama...in the first round.
The winner of that game would play TCU or Nebraska.
One the other side it'd be Oregon vs. Auburn, with the winner playing Boise St. or Oklahoma.  Oh, look at that!  A little rematch.  I think it's safe to say, things would be different.

Don't get me wrong, I love the little guys.  They're what keep every family glued to the television regardless of the sport.  But in this case, it's not even close.  Alabama is a better team than Boise and TCU, and that case could be made for more teams than just the Tide.  I fully expect the polls to fix themselves, or at least to the best of their ability, within the next few weeks.
